Joseph Taouk Managing Director 
Bachelor of Civil Engineering , University of New South Wales

Joseph completed his Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the University of New South Wales in November 1998. His extensive experience in construction management, structural analysis, and hydraulics led to his interest in waste management. This led to his research and work in developing an OCS (Organic Carbonisation System)

As a result, Joseph established Waste Circology in 2019 and has developed a patented process and reactor that reduces Waste to Carbon with zero CO2 emissions. Joseph envisages that Waste Circology will revolutionise the waste disposal industry and positively mitigate the impact of climate change.

Joseph is married with 4 children and lists as his interests family, skiing, reading, and mathematics.

Damian Trad Chief Executive Officer

Damian has had many years’ experience in the financial services sector as a Senior Manager with the Arab Bank, The National Australia Bank and his own company Trad Financial Services.

Damian is responsible for the day to day management of Waste Circology and is also driving the commercial and investment programme. He has been involved with the project since day 1 and his networking and management experience is a huge asset to the development and growth of Waste Circology.

Damian will add his considerable corporate experience to leading the growing Waste Circology management team and to developing growth nationally and internationally.

Damian is married with 5 children and lists as his interests Rugby League, Gardening, Finance and Development and Politics.

Barney Bruce Chief Engineer

Barney Bruce has joined the Waste Circology Team as Chief Engineer and has been responsible for overseeing the design and construction of the OCS Reactor. Barney is a mechanical engineer from Monash University and a member of Engineers Australia, the Australian Institute of Energy, and the Australian Nuclear Association. Barney has been an integral part of plant design and analysis work at AREVA, Siemens and Alstom in Europe; and more recently within smaller start-ups such as Vast Solar and Capricorn Power in Australia. His technical skill set ranges from detailed component design to overall power and process plant modelling, configuration and financial analysis, operational strategy development, and detailed definition and troubleshooting of plant logic. He adds considerable engineering expertise to the Waste Circology team.

Gary Allan – Director of Planning and Operations
CSC Australian Army COL (Retd), CPEng (Retired), FAICD, MBA (Tech Mngt), BE(Elect), IEEE (Life Member)

Gary Allan has over 40 years of military, government and commercial and related Board experience in general and senior management, predominately in the field of ICT, strategy development, senior leadership and procurement. He has considerable operational technical facility management experience.

Gary has been used by major international companies for a variety of tasks including providing independent program-level advice to bid boards (eg ‘red team reviews’) for major government tender activities, business strategy development, acquisition advice and training of senior staff. His many senior roles in Defence, Customs and industry as a senior technology adviser/CTO) equips him well for Board and Advisory Board roles as he has had at Allied Technologies Group, the Defence RPDE, SME Gateway, Amoveo and AIFC.

He continues to use his excellent training and skills as a Board director, often in a NED capacity including chair roles, on government, commercial and NFP boards.

Kenneth Halliday – Business and Administration Manager

Ken has developed a unique set of knowledge, skills through experience in soil conservation with the NSW Soil Conservation Service, agricultural mechanisation, organisational and personnel training and development, rural advisory, and financial services.

Ken’s grassroots, approach brings an appreciation of on-the-ground issues, often converting “academic speak” to a common language. His contribution complements other skills and experience within the Waste Circology team, providing a holistic approach to business consultation and advise

Ken has enjoyed many decades of innovation, challenge, and change from hand-written ledgers to complex computer accounting. Ken has had vast experience in finance, education, rural environmental management, excavation project management, and research.

Jerry Lissing – Director of Sales and Marketing
MA, Grad Dip Arts; Grad Dip Admin; Dip Rec

Jerry has had over 35 years experience managing large service operations in Venue and Facility Management including The Sydney Opera House; Stadium Australia and Fairmont Resort. He has also worked with Defence, managing and leading a large team in Base Services and operations.

Jerry also brings extensive business development and sales and marketing expertise to the Waste Circology team derived from his position as Director of Sales and Marketing Choice Hotels and Resorts Australia and New Zealand as senior business operations consultant with Minter Ellison Lawyers.

Jerry has been a director of several major organisations including being a Board Member of the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Sydney Kings.

Sammy Romanous – Project Architect

Sammy Romanous is the principal of Sam Romanous Architects Pty Ltd (SRA); a small architectural practice established in 1994.  Sammy Romanous graduated from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 1991, and he registered as an architect in 1994.  Sammy Romanous became a qualified building contractor in 2007.  In the past 22 years, SRA has accumulated an extensive network of consultants and building engineers.
